ABOUT ALEX

IMG_6kmk192_3x.png

As a lifelong resident of Laguna Beach, I am dedicated to the town that’s home to three generations of my family. My grandfather, an artist and entrepreneur, was drawn to the arts and culture. My grandmother, who still lives here, fell in love with Laguna's unmatched natural beauty.

I attended Laguna Beach public schools before studying Government, History, and Public Policy at Dartmouth College. From an early age, I’ve had a passion for public service. While still in high school, I served on the Laguna Beach Parking, Traffic, and Circulation Committee, Orange County Juvenile Justice Commission, and as a United States Senate Page. I was honored to represent Laguna Beach in the 2015 Patriot’s Day Parade as Junior Citizen of the Year.

In 2020, I returned home to Laguna and renewed my involvement in the local community. In 2021, City Council appointed me to the Laguna Beach Housing & Human Services Committee, which I now Chair.

As a Policy Advisor for Supervisor Katrina Foley, I’ve gained a county-wide perspective and experience navigating bureaucracy to get things done. I’ve advanced initiatives like an innovative Fly Friendly program to reduce noise and pollution from John Wayne Airport, cracked down on illegal sober living home operators, and conducted oversight over the County’s $8+ billion dollar budget.

I have the ideas, passion, and experience to hit the ground running and collaborate with Council, staff, local community leaders, and our residents to tackle local challenges that our community faces.
